Our first Dynamo Dogsport Fun Match was great fun for both human and canine competitors.  We had an even larger than expected entry as we raced the dogs head to head in the Circular Chase; tested their contacts and entrances at speed in the Grand Prix; tested the length of the arena in the Longest Frisbee Throw; saw them leap to great heights in the High Jumping; and finished of the day with some great racing in the team Tunnel Relay event.

The highlight of the day was the trophy table. Lesley H.S. did a GREAT job of coming up with great and unusual prizes for the trophy table, along with keeping everyone supplied with snacks throughout the day at the Concession table.

It was great to have so many on hand for our first run through of this exciting new venture, and even better that everyone was so complementary and enthusiastic about the event. Many commented that they were already looking forward to our first actual Dynamo Dogsport trial in March, so they can get started on those Dynamo Dog titles!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and had fun with their dogs. That is what Dynamo Dogsports is all about!

I was wondering if you have beginner classes. I noticed that most of the times are for intermediate. My dog Bailey, a bijon-shiz zhu, is 5 years old and has not been to any of these trials. He would have to be shown what to do, but he can jump like nobody’s business. We have a sunken family room and he can jump about five feet from the top step. He has done so from the beginning. I play a game with him and I throw one of his toys and he jumps when he comes to the step. I looked at the information you told me was on your web site, but it is mainly for knowledgeable dogs.

Baily has been to puppy school and the trainer said that he is very smart and could learn tricks easily.

Could you tell more information? I live in Edmonton, but getting to Cardiff would not be a problem.

    Hi Karen,

Our beginner Workshop is designed for dogs just like Bailey. It is a one day event, and introduces you and your dog to a bunch of basic agility concepts and equipment. Our next one is March 19. You can find information here…
