To those who have been waiting for news on the Regional event in Alberta... we put in a proposal to the AAC two months ago, and are still waiting for an official response to all the things that were included, but we know it takes time for the organization to meet discuss, and accept minutes etc, so we are hoping that we get a definitive answer with regard to everything we included after the April meeting next week.
A few of the items that we have proposed are
1) that the date be changed to September (we have gotten unofficial notice that this was accepted
2) that the folks from BC/SK/MB be allowed to play in our Regionals, because they do not have a Regional available, and that they be allowed to place in the standings
3) that the queues from the Nationals classes be counted toward queues for the dogs at whatever level the dog is currently playing at... because why not :-)
4) that we be able to include one day of international courses from an international judge, NOT to count in the Regional standings, but because some folks enjoy the different flavour of those types of courses, and this would be an additional fun opportunity for people to test themselves against each other and some different courses.
So stay tuned for details on all of this, and once we get an official answer we will start updating the website with an updated schedule, opportunities to make changes in your entries etc.
There may also be judging changes, and there will definately be layout changes of the venue, which may not happen until closer to the event so we know exactly how we have to accomodate any lasting covid regulations.
We have to have some optimism in the future, and so will really be trying to give everyone something to look forward to! ... See MoreSee Less
Good news! The AAC has accepted our Date Change request, so the Regionals Date is CHANGED to the September long weekend (beginning of September!).
We are very optimistic that the event will be able to go ahead at that time, with vaccinations finally getting on track in Alberta, and the Premier announcing that he expects to see events in the summer. :-)
We have a lot of details to work out, so stay TUNED!!!. ... See MoreSee Less
